Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 August 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the websites and online services operated by the Medical Chamber of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (“Chamber”, “we”, “us” or “our”) in connection with its scholarly journals, Medicinski glasnik - Med Glas (Zenica) and Bilten of the Medical Chamber of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (collectively, the “Journals”).
The Journals are open-access serial scholarly publications intended primarily for doctors of medicine, healthcare professionals, researchers and the wider professional and scientific community.
By accessing or using our websites or services, you agree to these Terms and to comply with applicable laws. Our Privacy Policy, together with any journal-specific author instructions, publication ethics policies, copyright notices and other policies published on our websites, forms part of the terms applicable to your use of the services.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the websites or services.
2. Use of the Websites and Content
The websites and their content are provided for lawful personal, professional, educational, research and scholarly purposes.
Unless otherwise stated, the website design, text, graphics, logos, software, compilation and arrangement of website materials are owned by or licensed to the Chamber and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may access, read, download and print reasonable portions of website content for legitimate personal, educational, professional or scholarly purposes, provided that you retain applicable copyright and other proprietary notices.
Published articles and other scholarly materials may be subject to copyright and to specific open-access licences. The rights to use, reproduce, distribute, adapt or otherwise reuse an individual article are determined by the copyright and licence statement accompanying that article. Where an open-access licence grants broader rights, those rights apply.
Open-access licensing applies only to material for which the Journal or the relevant copyright holder has the right to grant the applicable licence. An article may contain material owned by third parties, including photographs, figures, tables, illustrations, excerpts, datasets or other copyrighted material reproduced with permission. Such material may be identified by a credit line, caption or other notice indicating that it is excluded from the article's licence. Permission to reuse such material must be obtained from the relevant copyright holder where required. Users are responsible for determining whether particular material is covered by the applicable article licence.
3. Accounts and Services
Some Journal services may require registration, including manuscript submission, peer review or editorial services. Where registration is required, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep it reasonably up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized use of your account. You should notify us promptly if you become aware of unauthorized access.
We may suspend or terminate access to an account or service where reasonably necessary to protect the Journals, their users, the integrity of the editorial process, or the security of our systems, or where these Terms or applicable law have been violated.
4. Prohibited Use
You must not use the websites or services to engage in unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or abusive activities, to infringe the rights of others, or to interfere with the operation or security of the websites.
You may not use manual processes to harvest personal information from the websites for unsolicited or unauthorized communications, interfere with the operation of the services, or impair another person's use of the websites.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the websites, their servers, connected systems or networks, or attempt to bypass security or authentication measures. You may not probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the websites or connected systems without authorization.
You may not use automated means to access the websites in a way that places an unreasonable burden on our systems or interferes with their operation.
5. Artificial Intelligence, Automated Access and Security
Unless expressly permitted by the applicable article licence, Journal policy, separate authorization or applicable law, you may not use content subject to these Terms in combination with an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system for purposes such as training an artificial-intelligence model, developing or testing an artificial-intelligence system, or generating derivative content through automated processing where such use would exceed the rights granted by the applicable licence.
This restriction does not limit uses of open-access content that are expressly permitted by the licence accompanying the relevant article, mandatory rights under applicable law, or scholarly uses that do not require additional authorization.
You may not use robots, spiders, crawlers, scraping tools, automated downloading programs, algorithms or similar means to continuously or systematically search, extract, scrape, deep-link, index or download substantial amounts of website content, except where such activity is expressly permitted by us, an applicable licence, applicable technical standards or law. We may introduce reasonable technical measures to protect the website and its content from excessive or unauthorized automated access.
Where our websites use robot-exclusion files, headers or similar technical instructions, you agree to respect them and not circumvent them.
Academic indexing, search-engine crawling and other automated access that is expressly permitted by us, our technical configuration or applicable standards may continue to operate.
6. Medical and Scholarly Information
The content published by the Journals is intended for scholarly and professional purposes. It does not constitute medical, legal or other professional advice and should not replace the independent professional judgment of a qualified practitioner.
Medical knowledge, clinical practice, medicines, treatment recommendations, diagnostic methods and applicable regulations may change over time. Healthcare professionals should therefore independently verify relevant information, including diagnoses, treatment decisions, indications, contraindications, drug names and dosages, before applying published information in clinical practice.
Views, opinions, recommendations and conclusions expressed in articles are those of their respective authors and do not necessarily represent the views of the Chamber, the Journals or their editorial teams.
The Chamber does not assume responsibility for injury, damage or loss arising from reliance on or application of information, methods, procedures, products or recommendations published or otherwise made available through the Journals, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Authors are responsible for complying with applicable requirements concerning patient confidentiality, informed consent and the lawful publication of personal or health information.
7. Third-Party Websites, Services and Advertisement
Our websites may contain links to third-party websites, databases, repositories or other services. Such links are provided for convenience or scholarly purposes and do not necessarily constitute an endorsement.
We are not responsible for the content, availability, security or privacy practices of third-party websites or services.
The website may contain advertising. We do not endorse any responsibility of any kind for the content of the advertisement or sponsorship or the advertised product or service, which is the responsibility of the advertiser or sponsor, unless the advertised product or service is offered by us.
8. Availability and Disclaimer
We make reasonable efforts to maintain the availability and accuracy of our websites and services, but we do not guarantee that they will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or available.
The websites, services and their content are provided to the extent permitted by applicable law on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties concerning the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability of the websites or their content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. Changes to the Services and Terms
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any website, service or feature where reasonably necessary.
We may also amend these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, publishing practices, technology or applicable law. The current version will be published on the relevant Journal website together with its effective date.
Your continued use of the websites after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, subject to any mandatory provisions of applicable law. Disputes relating to these Terms or the use of our services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision shall be interpreted or modified to the extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original purpose as far as possible.
If such modification is not possible, the invalid or unenforceable provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.
Compliance with Laws
You agree to comply with relevant laws and regulations that apply to your use of the Services, Content or any Submission.
No Assignment
You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions to anyone.
